This bed appeared in their backyard the other day. Perhaps with two small children they are afraid they will wake them at night and have taken it outdoors as it were. Perhaps they are planning an interesting couples party. Perhaps they are renting out the backyard with the lovely cabana you can see in the background. Perhaps they are adding an Alberta guest suite.

This house has been a rental unit for many many years. The current occupants were the beneficiaries of some renovations when the previous tenant complained about being able to look at the first floor from the second floor through a series of holes in the floor.

Yes 35 Victor Avenue has a swimming pool. Supposedly there are 5 in Riverdale and three are on Riverdale Avenue. It was put in in 1990 .

Richard and Chris live there without pets. Both are retired with perhaps a bit too much time on their hands.
Nicknames: The Pool People

Monica moved here with her father Edward Thomas McBride who was a farmer in Peel. He died at 35 Victor in 15 Nov 1909. Monica later married in 01 Jan 1912 Edgar Gould Brown. Edgar was a widower whose wife Emma Victoria Goring had died 26 Nov 1910 in Thorold Twp., Welland Co., Ontario, Canada. By coincidence Edgar Gould Brown and I are relate through his mother Jannette Vanderberg. Edgar knew Monica because his wife’s sister Eliza Jane Goring married Monica’s brother John McBride 10 Feb 1886. Edgar died 29 Sep 1941 in Toronto. I don’t know when Monica died.

Attention
If you have been using the Victor Car Honk Alarm Service to wake up early in the morning or use it as a late night reminder to go to bed, then time to make some changes.
The owner of the Victor Car Honk Alarm has decided to close his business after several weeks in business. He didn’t get the response he was hoping for even though the service was free. In fact, several residents on the street seemed annoyed at the new service even though each alarm seemed to attract quite a few residents out of their homes and into the street.

They used to known as the Porch People because they lived on their porch in all kinds of weather smoking. This spring they redid their backyard and are now the Backyard People. They are rarely seen on the front porch. Don’t worry about the piled up newspapers on the front porch – they are still alive.
Emma Eulalia has reportedly moved to 51 Victor due to the comments she read below.
HELLO… new renter arriving at 38 Victor. The renter has moved on. Not sure where he went but the ladies didn’t like his decorating job.

One resident here was born in 1913 in Slovenia and has lived on Victor Avenue since 1945. A nephew in his 80’s confirmed this data. This might be the oldest resident and the longest resident on Victor Avenue.
Our oldest resident maintains the house, and waters the plants with a wonderful galvanized steel watering can.

The first picture from the City of Toronto Archives shows 41 Victor in 1924.
Now Michael lives here.
He used to rent out his parking space to the people at 43 but they moved uptown, uptown.

Violet and Paul live here.
Violet was born in this house so she might rival her next door neighbour Rose for the longest resident on the street. At least her family has lived her longer than Rose has.
