$422 000 Is where the smart money ends and the emotional money starts. Knob & tube, Asbestos, lead pipes, lead paint, ect, ect & ect. Full gut and reno = $200 000+. A PERFECT semi might get $650 000.

  7. Holey moley…house sales are slowing, but that a pretty big number.

  8. Did anyone notice? It looks like Rose still had an original, built-into-the-wall ICEBOX in her home, as seen on the porch briefly during the ongoing gutting of this house. I wish I’d had a look around inside, it must have been a real snapshot of another era.

  9. Rose’s husband installed what her son in law said was the first refrigerator on Victor Avenue in the 1940’s. There was a compressor in the basement to run the fridge. The unit you saw on the front porch was built by her husband to house the fridge.
